You’re Invited: Sashiko by Sanae Ishida

We took down the wonderful pieces from Blair Stocker’s Quilt Study show earlier this week. A few are being shipped out for folks and Blair was beyond sweet and gave one to me, which I am so excited about. I was starting to feel a little sad as our walls went bare and then realized that we were just days away from another amazing collection of fabric/sewing/craft inspired art.

This Saturday we will welcome Sanae Ishida and her show, Sashiko – inspired by the Japanese embroidery method and focused on paper, linen and thread. If you haven’t come across Sanae’s blog, go forth now. It is so unassuming, much like Sanae herself, that you are almost caught off guard with how captivating it is. The moment I saw her blog, I asked her if she might be up for creating something for Drygoods Design and of course, the result was love at first sight!

The above is a sneak peek of what’s on our wall and hope you’ll join us for art walk, including some fun in fabric, drinks and more. What the heck it’s my birthday tomorrow and I have to be at work so let’s party:).

When: January 12th, 2013 6 to 9 p.m.

Where: Drygoods Design, 5308 Ballard Avenue NW, Studio One…98107

In payment for your diligence of finding Ballard parking, we’ll provide bubbles and wine:).
