Here’s a look at our current schedule of events at the shop and online.

December 6, 2012 – Open Studio Night with special guest Rae Hoekstra of and creator of the famed Washi Dress Pattern. Join us for our first studio night in the new make*do*mend at Drygoods Design space! Rae will be speaking to sewing clothing, tips and tricks on the Washi Dress, fun variations and more. You will also get the first look at the new space, test drive our fleet of Bernina sewing machines, and check out our new selection of notions, supplies and crafting fun. Attendees will save 10% on the Washi Dress Pattern as well. We’ll provide the space and machines and some snacks, you bring yourself! *Special waiver of the $10 reservation for studio night for this date.

December 8, 2012 – It’s a double whammy! Art walk with the lovely and talented Blair Stocker of Wise Craft and her Quilt Study show and the official grand opening of make*do*mend. Join us for art, fabric, fun and the celebration of the new space – a delightful sewing + craft studio.

January 26, 2013 – Drygoods Design and The Pantry at Delancey are teaming up again for a DIY class!The Pantry is excited to welcome back Keli Faw, founder of Drygoods Design for a DIY sewing extravaganza! For this special event, Keli will teach you how to add inexpensive festive touches that will make your kitchen shine. You’ll sew two types of aprons, one with new fabric and one from repurposed tea towels, as well as handmade gift pouches for dinner party favors! And for the never sewn before crowd, we’ll take the sewing machine and paper to new heights for lovely decor elements. We’ll provide the sewing machines and fabric, you bring the creative energy!

This $75 class taught by Keli Faw will run from 12pm to 3pm.

Open Studio nights – starting in December, we’ll be hosting an open studio night two Thursdays a month versus one! We’ll be popping open some bottles and setting up some tables so you can sew, bind, cut or just chat, whichever it is – it will be fun! Interested in coming by? Email us and we’ll put you on the notification list.

The next ones are December 6th and 20th. The 20th will be the start of a $10 cost, however, can be put towards merchandise. Stay tuned for reservation options online.
