Com join us as we welcome one of the coolest chicks around and get your own copy of Liberty Love signed by Alexia. We’ll have bubbles, bites and the book on hand. Enjoy 20% off your in-store purchase that morning too.
At 1 p.m. Alexia will be teaching a class at our make*do*mend studio to teach you how to make the Around Town Tote Bag featuring leather handles and an painless $10 of Liberty Tana Lawn (or the fabric of your choice).
It’s a bold statement but I have to say that this could be one of those moments where you can say, “I met her once…” as Alexia is not only full of talent and style but also an unstoppable grace which, in my humble opinion, is going to propel her far as an industry leader. I see a great many books and meet a lot of people and I can honestly say that Liberty Love is not only a beautiful book but one of the most versatile in projects and skill levels. From quilts and accessories to apparel and small projects, it has something for everyone. Using Liberty as the focal point definitely lends to a fabric porn quality:).
The class is on the Around Town tote and we’ve got some very fun versions of leather straps to try out or bring your own old belt to use. There are just three spots as of this post so grab a friend, or two and sign up! If you miss out on the class, come at 10 a.m. to shop and enjoy the book signing.
And here’s our sample using Liberty scraps (just need Alexia to help us with the straps):
