Toolkit: The power of Pinterest

Pinterest started building momentum in 2010 and I am so happy to see it flourishing across the interwebs as it has, especially in the last six months. If you’ve seen a Drygoods Design giveaway, you’ll notice I offer more bonus points for Pinterest than any other social network. Why? Because I believe it to be the best online tool for sewists and those of us who love design. Tear sheets just don’t make sense anymore and with Pinterest, you can not only pin all of those amazing images you see but also tutorials, inspirations and fabrics. That way when you finally have time to make what you’ve been wanting to for so long you can track down the link instead of racking your brain for it!

Here are a few of the boards I have going right now – but mainly check out the color stories. What better way to plan a project when you can’t initially put all the fabric together in person? For quilters it’s like getting to play with an online charm pack. If you’re not already on Pinterest, I warn you – it’s addictive. Do you have a board you’d love to share? Post it in the comments or on the Drygoods Design Facebook page
